Self-Guided Day Trip to the Bahamas
About This Tour
Escape to the Caribbean with this Bimini day trip from Fort Lauderdale, an ideal experience for travelers staying in Miami who want to visit the Bahamas without taking a flight or booking overnight accommodation.
The experience begins at Terminal 21 in Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale. Check-in is scheduled for approximately 7:00 a.m., and the ferry generally departs around 9:00 a.m. However, passengers must check the final schedule provided with their booking confirmation.
Travel aboard a modern high-speed ferry in Premium Economy Class. This seating category includes priority boarding, seating in a more comfortable area of the vessel, and a light snack during the crossing.
The ferry features air-conditioned passenger areas, restrooms, and a café where additional food and beverages are available for purchase. The journey across the Atlantic Ocean takes approximately two hours each way.
Upon arrival in Bimini, passengers must complete immigration and customs procedures before beginning their free time. Bimini is the closest Bahamian archipelago to the Florida coast and is known for its white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and relaxed Caribbean atmosphere.
The scheduled time on the island is generally from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, the effective amount of free time may be reduced if there are delays during immigration and customs procedures. This is a self-guided experience, allowing you to organize your time independently.
While in Bimini, relax on public beaches, swim in clear Caribbean waters, sample Bahamian cuisine, or purchase optional activities. Admission to resorts, swimming pools, and private beaches, including the Resorts World Bimini day pass, is not included.
At the end of the day, return to the Bimini port at the time indicated on your ferry ticket for the journey back to Fort Lauderdale. The complete experience may last between 15 and 18 hours, depending on the ferry schedule and immigration procedures.
As this is international travel, every passenger, including children, must carry a valid passport with more than six months remaining validity. Depending on nationality and immigration status, passengers may also need a visa, permanent resident card, or authorization to re-enter the United States.
Each passenger is responsible for confirming and carrying all documentation required to enter the Bahamas and return to the United States before booking.
